    A limited edition copy of this work. Only two hundred and fifty copies were printed of this large paper edition, of which this copy is number one hundred and eighty one. 

    George du Maurier was a cartoonist and writer known for his work in Punch and for his Gothic novel Trilby. 

    The Martian is a largely autobiographical novel that describes the life of Barty Josselin as told by his close friend Robert Maurice. 

    With six facsimiles of selected pencil studies by the author and forty eight further illustrations throughout the text. 
    Collated, complete.

    Condition

    In quarter vellum with cloth covered boards. Externally, very smart with some marks to the boards and spine. Internally, firmly bound with bright and clean pages.
