The first edition of this work, in the publisher's original binding and with an 8 page publisher's catalogue to the rear. With photographic plates throughout.

A biography of the renowned children's author and Anglican deacon Lewis Carroll, author of 'Alice in Wonderland' and the poem 'Jabberwocky'. Carroll's own nephew, Stuart Dodgson Collingwood, compiled this biography of Carroll's life, including within many photographs and letters.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Significant fading to spine. Bumping to extremities, particularly head of spine where there is a closed tear. Joint at head of spine held by cords only. Front and rear hinges weak. Internally, generally firmly bound though tender in places. Half title discoloured. Frontispiece tissue guard intact, though discoloured due to age. Pages otherwise bright and clean.
