In the publisher's original pictorial cloth binding. Bumping to back strip head and tail, and board perimeters. Boards bright. Front hinge strained and rear hinge starting, with boards holding firm. Front and rear free endpapers lacking. Former owner's inscription to half title. Internally, firmly bound. Spotting to plate perimeters, plates retaining original tissue guards.
