This volume includes 'The Son's Veto', 'For Conscience' Sake', 'A Tragedy of Two Ambitions', 'On the Western Circuit', 'To Please His Wife', 'The Melancholy Hussar of the German Legion', 'The Fiddler of the Reels', 'A Tradition of Eighteen Hundred and Four', and 'A Few Crushed Characters'.
'Life's Little Ironies' has gone through many revisions since the collection was first published in 1894, with the more commonly found one now being the 1927 edition, which contains different stories to this edition.
Illustrated with a frontispiece by H. Macbeth-Raeburn, and a map of Wessex.
Condition
In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. Spine and extremities are lightly faded. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine. A few light marks to the boards and spine. Prior owner's ink inscription to the verso of the rear endpaper. Occasional spots to the paste downs and endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
