A scarce work.

This is a very scarce edition, published by James Askew of Preston. None of this edition is listed on Jisc or WorldCat. Askew were a small publisher, who specialised in volumes for schools and colleges. They also published works by Arthur Conan Doyle between the years 1902 and 1920.

A concise handbook to the running of a household, an interesting insight into Victorian housekeeping.

Undated, dated from the copies of this work published by Walter Scott in 1898.

Prize presentation label to the front pastedown.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. A few small patches of rubbing to the boards and spine. Light ringmark to the front board. Prize label to the front pastedown. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean, with just a couple of light spots.
