First Edition, Publishers' Original Binding

The first edition of this inspiring addresse given by noted artist William Morris, at the prize ceremony of the Birmingham Municipal School of Art on the 1st February 1894. 

Lacking the publisher's note to the front as often.

William Morris was a notable British textile designer, poet, artist, writer, activist and conservationist. He is widely known for his association with the British Arts and Crafts movement and is recognised as one of the most significant cultural figures of Victorian Britain.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth binding, in the original paper covered boards. Externally, smart. Light marks to the boards. Spine is rubbed. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine, with a small chip to the tail. Prior owner's ink inscription to the recto of the front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
