An early reprint of the original work published in 1895. 

In the original publisher's cloth with a gilt illustration to the front. 

Illustrated with a frontispiece and 23 plates including maps, one of them being a folding plate. 

This work was written by brothers General Sir George John Younghusband and Colonel Sir Francis Edward Younghusband. This work provides an account of the siege of Chitral from two brothers who were correspondents for 'The Times' during the Chitral expedition.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth. Externally very smart with bumping to resulting in minor small closed tears to the cloth tot he spine, the odd mark to the boards and fading to the spine and head of the front board. Minor handling marks to the end papers with hinges starting but very firm. Internally generally firmly bound with plate facing page 48 disbound but present. Pages bright with the odd minor mark and spot only. Past owners old ink signature dated 1905 to the half title.
