Description

Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding, Scarce

First published in 1891, this novel is a lesser known work from Scottish playwright and novelist J. M. Barrie, best known, of course, for the creation of 'Peter Pan'.

'The Little Minister' is a sentimental novel set in the Scottish weaving village 'Thrums,' heavily based on Barrie's birthplace and early upbringing. The novel is concerned with an impoverished minister who is struggling with a rioting congregation of weavers.

Featuring the illustrated plates of W. Hole.

With twenty two pages of publisher's advertisements to the rear.

The scarce fifty-second thousand of this work.
