What Our Customers Say...

Description

First Edition, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding

First edition of The Chippendale Period in English Furniture by K. Warren Clouston in the original publisher's cloth binding.

A densely illustrated description of this period of English furniture trends and designs tracing the history of Thomas Chippendale, a cabinet maker in London. His designs were so influential his name became a shorthand descriptor for these trends.

With illustrations by the author. Includes fourteen monochrome plates and illustrations throughout the text. Collated, complete.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. There is some bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. There are some light marks to the boards and spine. The hinges are strained but firm. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean with some light spotting, particularly to the endpapers and first few pages.
