An in-depth analysis of the life and works of Richard Cosway, and his influence on his wife and pupils.

Cosway was the leading portrait painter of the Regency era, best known for his miniatures. During his career he produced portraits of the Duke of Wellington, Madame du Barry, and other prominent figures of society.

Illustrated with a frontispiece, fifty-three plates, and in-text illustrations.

Collated, complete.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, generally smart, with some rubbing and marks to the boards and spine. Light bumping to the spine and extremities. Internally, most pages are detached but present, as is common with this work due to the gutta percha binding. Pages are bright and clean with just a few odd spots.
