The second edition of this study of horses from Captain Matthew Horace Hayes, who wrote many works on the subject of horses and horse care, and was one of the most lauded authors on the subject. His 'Veterinary Notes for Horse Owners' was a standard work for equine healthcare.
With chapters on the anatomy, breathing, locomotion, paces, leaping, classes and breeds, as well as individual body parts.

Condition
In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, generally smart, with shelf wear to the extremities, head and tail of the spine, and to the joints. Small tear to the head of the rear joint. Both hinges are slightly strained but are held firmly by cords. Binding is a little strained to pages 113, 161 and 273, but is otherwise firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean except for the odd spot to the first and last few pages.
