Illustrated with a sketch frontispiece of Abbotsford, five plates and two folding maps. Collated complete. 

This pocket guide outlines the Melrose and Abbotsford, the country house residence of novelist and poet Sir Walter Scott. 

With a leaf of advertisements to the front and two to the rear, as well as to the pastedowns. An advertisement for Bartholomew's Reduced Ordnance Survey of Scotland to the rear wrap.

Condition

In the publisher's wraps. Externally, very smart with slight edge wear and a couple marks to the wrap. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Small tear to the title page leaf, which connects to the uncut preface page.
