Yours fraternally, E. Fox-Thomas. W. Bro. Edgar Goble.', slip with the blind stamp 'Balcombe Hurst, Branksome Park, Bournemouth'. This work is a concise but in-depth look into the history of Freemasonry in Whitby, looking from its conception in 1764, to the date of this works publication, 1897. The first masonic lodge was built in Whitby in 1764, and the Lion Lodge was founded in 1797. Illustrated with a frontispiece, folding plate, and eight plates. Written by Brother Reverend Egbert Fox-Thomas, who was a Provincial Grand Chaplain. With an introduction by Brother William James Hughan, who was the Senior Grand Deacon of England.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. Masonic lodge library label to the tail of the spine. Small patches of rubbing to the spine. Light marks to the boards. Light bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Signed by the author to the recto to the front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean with the odd spot.
