This work is a concise but in-depth look into the history of Freemasonry in Whitby, looking from its conception in 1764, to the date of this works publication, 1897. The first masonic lodge was built in Whitby in 1764, and the Lion Lodge was founded in 1797. Illustrated with a frontispiece, folding plate, and eight plates. Written by Brother Reverend Egbert Fox-Thomas, who was a Provincial Grand Chaplain. With an introduction by Brother William James Hughan, who was the Senior Grand Deacon of England.
