Two large referential works concerning the history of the Diocese of Worcester.

Written by J.W. Willis Bund, a British lawyer and church historian in Worcester. Edited for the Worcestershire Historical Society.

Including the following volumes:

The Register of the Diocese of Worcester During the Vacancy of the See (1893-1897) consists of four parts: (I) From the Death of Bishop Gifford, 1301, to the Enthronization of Bishop Ginsborough, 1303; (II) From the death of Bishop Ginsborough, 1307, to the Confirmation of Bishop Walter Reynolds, 1308; (III) From the Translation of Bishop Walter Reynolds to Canterbury, 1313, to the Translation of Bishop Wittelsey from Rochester to Worcester, 1364; (IV) From the Death of Bishop William de Lynn, 1373, to the Consecration of Bishop Bouchier, 1435. 

Containing two illustrated plates, one of which is folding.

Episcopal Registers, Diocese of Worcester, Register of Bishop Godfrey Giffard, September 23rd, 1268, to August 15th, 1301 (1902).

Collated and complete. 

These works were previously housed at the Worcester County Library, and contain library stickers and stamps to the front pastedowns and front free-endpapers of both volumes. Also containing small library notations in ink to the verso of the title pages in each volume. 

Volumes have been uniformly rebound in library cloth, with library locations in ink to the spines. 

Also containing the bookplate of H.R. Hodgkinson to the front pastedown of each volume.

Condition

Rebound in library cloth. Externally, very smart, with just minor shelf wear. Library pen notations to the spine of each volume. Library stamps and stickers to the front pastedowns and front free-endpapers, and library ink notations to the verso of the title pages of each volume. Previous owner's bookplate to the front pastedown of each volume. Internally, title page, page lv to lvi, and the rear free-endpaper are all detached but present in 'Episcopal Registers'. Front hinge is tender to 'Episcopal Registers'. Remaining binding firm. Some light spots to the first and last few pages of each volume, otherwise pages are generally bright and clean.
