    Description

    First Edition, Scarce

    First edition in the original cloth binding. Lacking portrait frontispiece. This scarce work contains the letters of Brevet-Major O. H. S. G. Anson, describing his experiences with the H. M. 9th Lancers during the Indian Rebellion of 1857, edited by his son Harcourt S. Anson. At the commencement of the mutiny, Anson commanded a squadron and later the regiment.

    Condition

    In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, very smart with some slight wear to the head and tail of spine. Some minor ink spots to the front board. Internally, binding slightly strained but firm. Missing portrait frontispiece. Pages generally clean with some spotting to the first and last pages and to the fore edge.
