An early comic novel by H. G. Wells, recounting a cycling holiday undertaken in August 1895.
The novel was written during the height of the cycling crace, when more practical and comfortable bicycles became more widely available to the public.
In 1922 this novel was adapted into a silent film.
Condition
In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, generally smart. Spine is a little faded. Some light rubbing and marks to the boards and spine, including a black mark to the spine. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine, and a little heavier bumping to the extremities. Discolouration to the fore edge of the front board. Spots to the fore edge. Hinges are starting but firm. Paste downs and endpapers are spotted. Small damp stain to the paste downs. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean with some spots. Page 69/70 is torn and may detach.
