An uncommon volume. Published by the Religious Tract Society an organisation designed to promote Christian literature. The work was largely aimed at families, in particular women and children. This particular volume includes a large selection of short stories, sermons and religious articles, designed to read and enjoyed on the Christian sabbath. Illustrated with 15 plates throughout (collated complete) with numerous in-text illustrations throughout.
Condition
In a full cloth binding. Externally bumping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities. Rubbing to the front board, to the fore edge. Light spots and marks to the front and rear boards. Light offsetting to the endpapers. Internally firmly bound. Pages are generally clean with light offsetting to several pages and the odd spot. Tear to the tail of the title page. Large closed tear to pages 9 to 12.
