The first translated edition. In full cloth binding with gilt detail to the spine. There is a fold out map of Paris in volume one and an engraved plate in volume two. Each book also has an engraved frontispiece. Collated complete. The complete two volume set of Baron Thiébault's memoir, translated and condensed by Arthur John Butler. Paul Thiébault was a French general who fought in Napoleon's army. With publisher's advertisements at the end of volume two.
Condition
In full cloth binding with gilt detail. Externally, smart with some shelf wear to the edges and spines. Slight fading to the front board of volume two and the occasional mark to the boards.Internally, firmly bound. A number of pages to the end of volume two are uncut. Pages generally bright and clean with some light age-toning. The occasional spot throughout, heavier to the title pages and frontispieces.
