Extensive study in four large paper volumes written by American historian William Milligan Sloane, with much in-depth insight into the rich career and fall of Napoleon Bonaparte and European history.
Illustrated with numerous full page plates, some in colour. Frontispiece vol. III loose but present. Half title and frontispiece vol. IV loose but present.
Condition
In the original publisher's uniform full cloth bindings. Externally smart with shelf wear, bumped to head and tail of spine, library stickers to spine, boards lightly marked, minor damp mark to spine vol. IV, due to loss of library sticker. Cherub stamp to half title, recto frontispiece and title page. Internally, binding generally firm. Pages browned and chipped as usual with type of paper used. Occasional leaf of plate loose. Tape marks and closed tear to half title and frontispiece vol. IV.
