First edition. Illustrated with a frontispiece, fifteen wood cut plates, and a fold out map to the rear. Collated complete. A chronicle of a leisurely stagecoach tour of Southern English Roads, emphasising the beauty and interest on our own doorstep as he describes a 'restful, health-giving holiday, spent in driving about the peace-bestowing English country'. Written by John James Hissey, an English landowner.

Condition

In the original green cloth binding. Externally, smart with light rubbing and minor bumping to the extremities. Fading to the spine and boards with the odd small mark. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd small spot or handling mark. Light age toning to the endpapers with a contemporary ink inscription to the front endpaper.
