What Our Customers Say...

Description

Early Edition, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding

A fascinating work of travel literature, a mixture of autobiography and imagined events, focused on the author's journey through south-western Germany.

This is a humorous work, the story of an American tourist believing that he understands everything, whilst in reality he does not.

Written by noted American author Mark Twain, most well-known for his highly successful works The Adventures of Tom Sawyer (1876) and Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (1884).

An early UK edition of this work, published originally in the United States and Great Britain in 1880.

Containing three hundred and fourteen in-text illustrations, by W. FR. Brown, True Williams, B. Day, and more.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, sound, with some light shelf wear to the boards, and a scratch to the cloth on the rear board. Spine has slightly faded, and there is bumping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities. Internally, front hinge is starting. Remaining binding is generally firm. Pages are lightly age-toned to the extremities, and contain the odd handling mark, but are otherwise generally clean.
