Fine Binding, First Edition, Illustrated

This a collection of the first printed serial appearances of St Ives extracted from Pall Mall Magazine and bound as one complete work. High quality paper has been laid down covering superfluous text to make for a continuous narrative. With the colour illustrated advertisement for Stevenson's Ebb-Tide present. Includes the continuation by Arthur Quiller-Couch. "St Ives, a lightweight potboiler, begun in 1893, featuring the adventures of a French prisoner-of-war in Napoleonic times following his escape from Edinburgh Castle, was completed by Arthur Quiller-Couch (1897)" -DNB.

Condition

In a recent half morocco binding. Externally, fine, with just fading to the spine. Internally, firmly bound, with the occasional spot. With a small wax seal to the rear pastedown.
