Written by Harold Avery, a children's author who drew on his experiences at Eton when writing his successful school novels. He wrote prolifically, penning over fifty works in forty-five years.

With a prize bookplate to the front pastedown; awarded to Joe Smith, dated 1914 from Forest Town Primitive Methodist Church.

The third edition of this work, which first appeared in 1894.

With wonderful illustrations throughout.

Condition

In the publisher's original full cloth binding. Externally very smart, with just a little bumping. Prize bookplate to the front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are just slightly age-toned to the extremities.
