The first edition of this work in book form. First published in Pall Mall magazine. In the original publisher's cloth. With a frontispiece, vignettes and 5 plates. This work is written by Frederick Roberts, 1st Earl Roberts, Field Marshall and General. This work looks into the British general, the Duke of Wellington. This work focuses on Wellington's rise from his low rank to being one of the most successful British generals.
Condition
In the publisher's original cloth. Externally generally smart with fading to the spine, very minor discolouration to the boards. light rubbing to the joints and bumping resulting in rubbing to the extremities. Offsetting to the end papers with news paper clippings adhered to the front pastedown and inserted into the book. Internally firmly bound with bright and generally clean pages with an ink mark to an introduction and illustration list page.
