Description

Decorative Binding, First Edition, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding

Kipling is best known for this novel 'The Jungle Book', however he was a prolific writer of poems, novels, and short stories. Being born in India inspired much of his work, and he went on to become one of the most popular writers of his time.

Originally published in magazines between 1893 and 1894, 'The Jungle Book' contains a selection of tales and fables inspired in part by the ancient Indian fable texts such as the Panchatantra and the Jataka tales. The book is arranged with a story in each chapter, with each story followed by a poem.
