Description

Folding Maps, Publishers' Original Binding

This work examines firstly the land as a whole, its climate, scenery, history and place in religion, followed by a closer look at Western and Eastern Palestine.

Written by George Adam Smith (1856-1942), a Scottish theologian born in Calcutta.

A third edition of this work, which was first published in 1894, the year prior.

Illustrated with five folding maps and one plate, including a folding map frontispiece in colour and a folding map held in a pocket at the rear of the work.

With a chronological table and five appendices, on terms of the Old Testament, Stade's theory of Israel's invasion of Western Palestine, the wars against Sihon and Og, the bibliography of Eastern Palestine, and roads and wheeled vehicles in Syria.

Collated, complete.

A fascinating exploration of the Holy Land.

Condition
