Written by Karl Ludwig Johannes Baedeker, a German publisher whose company set the standard for authoritative guidebooks for tourists.

Condition

In the original red cloth binding. Externally, smart with light rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Fading to the spine and board edges. Minor splits in the cloth to the head and tail of the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd spot or handling mark. Contemporary ink inscription and bookseller's ink stamp to the front endpaper.
