What Our Customers Say...

Description

First Edition, Folding Maps, Illustrated, Rebound

The first edition.

Rebound in cloth by Bickers, with their name in gilt to the tail of the spine.

Illustrated with a frontispiece, two folding maps, seventy-one plates, and in-text illustrations.

Collated, complete.

A fascinating study on India, discussing the vast differences between natives who live in different valleys.

Part I looks at Kulu, Part II looks at Kuram.

An interesting look at India, and how the British misconstrues the natives all as 'Indians', rather than how they know themselves as Bengali, Parsi, etc.

Written by Frederick St. John Gore.

Two pages of publisher's adverts to the rear.

Bookplate of Sir James Joicey to the front paste down. Joicey was an industrialist, known primarily as a coal mining magnate from Durham. He was also a Liberal Party Member of Parliament.

Condition

Rebound in a full cloth binding by Bickers. Externally, smart, with only a couple of light marks to the boards, a little heavier to the rear board. Bookplate to the front paste down. Light spots to the endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
