Two letters from the author to William Shepherd loosely inserted in an envelope, dated July 28 1893 and July 23 1896. The first letter discusses an old murder, the second is a letter of thanks.

Illustrated with a frontispiece, and twenty-six illustrations, both full paged and in text.
