Scarce to see this run of Hardy's Wessex novels as a set.
A collection of the Wessex works of Thomas Hardy, all set in his semi-fictional region that is based on the medieval Anglo-Saxon Wessex, including the areas of Devon, Wiltshire, Somerset, Devon, Hampshire, and Berkshire.
This set includes two of Hardy's best known works, 'Tess of the d'Urbervilles' and 'Far From the Madding Crowd'.

Condition
In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, generally smart. Some light marks to the boards and spine. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spines and to the extremities. Spine of 'The Mayor of Casterbridge' is faded. A little wear to the extremities of 'The Woodlanders'. A little loss to the head of the spine of 'Jude the Obscure', and a mark to the rear board. Head of the spine of 'A Laodicean' is chipped and lifting, spine is faded. Head of the spine of 'Life's Little Ironies' is chipped and lifting and the spine is faded. A little fading to the head of the front board of 'Jude the Obscure'. Front hinge of 'The Return of the Native' 'Jude the Obscure' starting but firm. Rear hinge of 'A Laodicean' is starting but firm. Internally, firmly bound. 'The Mayor of Casterbridge' is generally firmly bound. Pages are very lightly age-toned and clean, with the occasional scattered spot.
