The Badminton Magazine of Sports and Pastimes was a sporting magazine published between 1895 and 1923 from London. Each work contained a series of articles and illustrations on sporting activities and news, along with the serialisation of novels concerned with sports. This set includes articles on horse racing, fox-hunting, bullfighting, big-game hunting, boating, rowing, walking and climbing, golfing, grouse driving, and much more. Edited by Alfred E. T. Watson, a British writer and editor. This set includes: Volume I - August to December 1895. Volume II - January to June 1896. Volume III - July to December 1896. Volume IV - January to June 1897. Volume V - July to December 1897. Volume VI - January to June 1898. Volume VII - July to December 1898. Volume VIII - January to June 1899. Volume IX - July to December 1899.
Condition
In the original yellow cloth binding. Externally, smart with light shelf wear and minor bumping to the extremities. Fading to the spine and the odd mark to the board. A red ink mark to the rear board of volume two. Front joint starting but firm to volumes two, seven, with endpapers loosening to volume seven. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with light scattered spotting. Bookseller's label to the front pastedown.
