This volume contains extracts from letters written to his wife by Lieutenant William Tate Groom who was order to join General Havelock's Force in quelling the Indian Mutiny in May 1857. 

With a preface by his wife, Helen M. I. Groom. 

With thirty two pages of publisher adverts to the rear.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, worn. Fading and bumping to the spine and some marks to the boards. Internally, firmly bound with generally bright and clean pages. The title page is torn to the top.
