A detailed study of hardy exotic plants and British wild flowers, with chapters on: flower order, those fitted for the wild garden, trees and bushes, woodland drives and grass walks, wall and rock gardens, as well as examples of results. Written by William Robinson, an Irish practical gardener and journalist whose ideas about wild gardening spurred the movement that led to the popularising of the English cottage garden. Illustrated by Alfred William Parsons, an English artist, illustrator, landscape painter, and garden designer.

Condition

In the original green cloth binding. Externally, very smart with light shelf wear to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with the odd spot. Age toning to the endpapers.
