In a attractive leather prize binding, with the crest of Tipperariae Grammar School to the front board. Sir Robert S. Ball was a Irish born astronomer, who is perhaps best known for his kinematic and mechanic theory, named 'screw theory'. This particular volume makes for an interesting insight into Victorian astronomy, reflecting the contemporary attitudes, and the types of technology available for an astronomer during the 19th century.
Condition
In decorative prize binding with gilt detailing and decorative fore edge. Externally smart, there is some minor wear to extremities as well as minor markings and wear to joints. Internally, the pages are firmly bound and are bright and clean throughout.
