She was active during the nineteenth century and is known for her innovative volume of elegies which marked her as one of the founders of French romantic poetry. Robert de Montesquiou, the author of this work, was a Symbolist poet. This essay examines many of Desbordes-Valmore's poems and also provides an attempt to classify its inspirational motifs.

In a full cloth binding with the original wraps bound in. Externally, very smart.Light rubbing to the spine label. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are slightly age toned due to the paper used. Pages are generally clean.
