First edition of Czar and Sultan, The Adventures of a British Lad in the Russo-Turkish War of 1877-87 by Archibald Forbes in the original publisher's cloth binding.

Real-life inspired fiction story, taken from several sources including letters written to the Daily News and the author's personal experiences of the war.

Archibald Forbes was a nineteenth century Scottish war correspondent.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. There is some bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities, resulting in some slight wear to the cloth in these areas. The front hinge is starting but firm. The first free endpapers are working loose. Internally, generally firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean with the occasional spot.
