A detailed historical commentary on the city of Edinburgh, Scotland. With chapters on Margaret of Scotland, the Stewards, the time of the prophets, and the modern city. Written by Margaret Oliphant, a Scottish novelist and historical writer. Illustrated by Sir George Reid, a Scottish artist.

Condition

Bound in full blue calf binding. Externally, very smart with minor rubbing to the extremities and light fading to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with the odd spot to the endpapers. Contemporary ink inscription to the front endpaper. School prize bookplate to the front pastedown.
