This work follows the adventures of Beric the Briton as he bravely faces the Roman conquest.

George Alfred Henty (1832-1902) was an extremely prolific novelist known for his historical adventure tales popular in the late 1800s. His works were known for their pervasive patriotism, and include 'St. George for England', 'Under Drake's Flag', 'Bonnie Prince Charlie', 'In the Reign of Terror' and Wulf the Saxon'.

Illustrated by W. Parkinson with twelve full plates, including a frontispiece. Collated, complete.

Undated; dated from the list of the author's works and the prize bookplate.

Prize bookplate awarded from Honeywell Road School for attendance and progress in class, dated July 1905.

Condition

In a pictorial full cloth binding. Externally generally smart, with slight bumping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities discolouring the cloth a little. Prize bookplate to the front pastedown. Ownership inscription to the front blank. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
