Browne was a Fellow and a Lecturer in Persian at the University of Cambridge and spent 1887 to 1888 living in Persia, and recorded his thoughts and observations on the lifestyles, social character, and customs of the Persian people. Also including topographical descriptions of Tabriz, Teheran, Isfahan, Shiraz, Yezd, Kirman and more.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, smart, with shelf wear to the boards and bumping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities. Fading to the spine. Internally, hinges are strained. A few small closed tears to the folding map. Pages are generally bright and clean.
