Two unique handwritten logbooks, written for a Steam/Sail Cargo Ship that traded extensively between 1893 and 1902 across over 170 voyages.
Voyaging across the Atlantic, Black Sea, Mediterranean, and Indian Ocean.
A unique and interesting work that a lot of care went in to producing.
Two leaves of index to the front of the earlier volume.
Remarks on each voyage noted, with notes on the length and weather endured during the trips.
Condition
In a half calf binding, the earlier volume with cloth to the boards, the later volume with marbled paper to the boards. Externally, generally smart, with some rubbing and marks to the boards and spines. Loss to the back strips, a little heavier to the later volume. Front hinge of the earlier volume is starting but frim. Internally firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean with some spots.
