Prize bookplate to the front paste down from the Royal Society of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, awarding this volume to Ruby E. Dove for an essay on 'Man's Duty towards Animals' which she presented at the Crystal Palace, 1898. Folding colour map to the front of the volume. 22 full page engravings, including the frontispiece, and numerous engravings throughout the text. Collated complete. Macmillan's guide to the Italian Riviera, separated into the Western Riviera, from Hyeres to Genoa, and the Eastern Riviera, from Nervi to Lerici. Illustrated with picturesque scenery from this area, this guide provides descriptions of the history, architecture and landscapes of the Italian Riviera.

Condition

In publisher's original pictorial cloth binding. Externally smart, though there is some staining and fading to the extremities of the boards, and also a little bumping to the spine and the extremities. Spine is slightly faded. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean, with just some offsetting to the paste downs and end papers.
