The novel tells the story of three sisters, Marianne, Elinor, and Margaret, and follows them in their trials of love.

Volumes III and IV, 'Pride and Prejudice', complete in two volumes, illustrated with a frontispiece, and two plates to Volume III, and a frontispiece and two plates to Volume IV. Collated, complete. 'Pride and Prejudice' is perhaps one of the most famous love stories of all time. This is a novel about the life of Fanny Price, who is sent to live with her wealthy aunt and uncle when her family become overburdened.

The novel follows about a year in the life of the young woman Emma Woodhouse, who decides to try her hand at matchmaking, finding matches for her new best friend, Harriet.

Volume IX, 'Northanger Abbey', complete in one volume illustrated with a frontispiece, and two plates. Collated, complete. A novel about Catherine Morland, the young and naive heroine who travels to Bath, and becomes intrigued by the death of the mother of the man she loves.

Volume X, 'Persuasion', complete in one volume, illustrated with a frontispiece, and two plates. Collated, complete. Anne Elliot is Austen's most mature heroine in terms of age, making 'Persuasion' possibly Austen's most unique novel. It tells the story of Anne Elliot and Captain Wentworth, and follows them during their second chance of love after their broken engagement seven years earlier.

Jane Austen has become one of the most popular Georgian writers, her novels being loved for generations. Her ironic social commentary offers an interesting insight into Upper-Middle class Georgian life.
