Description

Translated 'Vicious Pleasures', this work handles alcohol, smoking tobacco and narcotics, and society's relationship with them.

The first French edition.

With a preface by Alexandre Dumas.

Leo Tolstoy (1828-1910) was a Russian writer widely regarded as one of the greatest of all time. His best known novels are 'War and Peace' and 'Anna Karenina'; he was also a prolific writer of philosophical essays, and his works often contain the themes of Christian anarchism and pacifism as per his beliefs. His writings on non-violent resistance inspired the likes of Martin Luther King Jr and Mahatma Gandhi.
