1892 Drinks a la Mode
What Our Customers Say...
Publishers' Original Binding, Scarce
A scarce work. One the rarest and most collectable of the 'a la mode' series.
Probably one of the most interesting too with sections on American cocktails as well as cups, hot drinks, syrups and invalid drinks.
The second edition of this work.
A charming late Victorian recipe collection for various drinks, from alcoholic cocktails to tea.
Written by Anne de Salis, real name Harriet Anne Bainbridge who was an English author best known for this series which is now very collectable.
Prior owner's ink inscription to the front pastedown 'A. M. Sweeney, 1903'.
In the original publisher's quarter cloth binding with paper to the boards. Externally, generally smart. Light bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. A little discolouration to the tail of the boards and spine. Minor marks to the boards and spine. Front hinge is starting but firm. Prior owner's ink inscription to the front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned and clean with just a few odd spots.
