Early edition of Buddhism Primitive and Present in Magadha and in Ceylon by Reginald Stephen Copleston. 

In the original publisher's cloth binding. 

Copleston was an Anglican priest and author and served as a Bishop in India for over thirty years, sparking his intrigue into other religions and their history. 

With twenty four pages of advertisements to the rear.

Prior owner's ink inscription to the half title.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, sound. There is some bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. There is some wear to the head of the spine, and the front joint is slightly cracked. The hinges are starting but firm. Prior owner's ink inscription to the half title. Internally, generally firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean with the odd spot.
