The first edition of this work. A very scarce work. This work celebrates the centenary of Masonic Female Orphan School of Ireland, a Masonic school in Dublin, founded in 1792. The school was founded to help maintain the daughters of Freemasons who were unable to support their families. This centenary saw a five day bazaaropen at the Royal Dublin Society grounds, which was presided over by the Duke of Abercorn, the Grand Master. The highlights included a landscaped garden, and a human chess game. Illustrated with numerous full page and in-text illustrations. Masonic lodge library label to the tail of the spine. Lodge of Harmony presentation label to the rear pastedown, presented to the Lodge of Harmony by Wor. Bro. G. F. Lancaster. With numerous pages of publisher's adverts throughout.
Condition
In a quarter cloth binding with paper to the boards, and a cutout design to the front boards. Externally, generally smart. Some light marks to the boards. Masonic lodge library label to the tail of the spine. A little bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Prior owner's ink inscription to the front pastedown. Lodge of Harmony presentation label to the rear pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very lightly age-toned and generally clean with the odd spot.
