All nine volumes include a monochrome plate as the frontispiece with a tissue guard. Collated, complete. The volumes are as follows:
Alfred Lord Tennyson was an English poet who held the position of Poet Laureate between 1850 until his death in 1892. He held the position for much of Queen Victoria's reign, who was an admirer of his work.
Includes book plates from the Ascott House library, owned by the de Rothschild family. The library was created following the conversion of the billiards room in 1936 and was predominantly filled with books collected by Anthony de Rothschild.
Condition
In full morocco Riviere and Sons bindings. Externally, excellent. Only some minor bumping to the extremities. Some of the spines are very slightly marked. Includes book plates to the front pastedowns of each volume. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean. Tissue guards are present and in tact.
