'The Little Minister' is a sentimental novel set in the Scottish weaving village Thrums, heavily based on Barrie's birthplace. The novel is concerned with an improvised minister who is struggling with his rioting congregation of weavers.
Written by J. M. Barrie, one of the most beloved Scottish authors of all time, with his children's tale 'Peter Pan' becoming one of the most classic pieces of children's literature ever.
Prior owner's pencil inscription to the recto to the front endpapers of Volumes I and II.
Sixteen pages of publisher's adverts to the rear of Volume I.
Condition
In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. Light bumping to the head and tail of the spines and to the extremities. Some minor marks to the boards and spines. Rear board of Volume I and rear joint of Volume III are a little faded. Rear hinge of Volume II is starting but firm. Prior owner's pencil inscription to the recto to the front endpapers of Volumes I and II. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean with some odd spots.
