This work was previously published alongside critical reviews, with the Paris Sketchbook and with Eastern Sketches, a journey from Cornhill to Cairo.
In this work, William Makepeace Thackeray documents his exploration of Ireland, presenting his time in Dublin, Cork, Killarney, Galway and many other places.
Written just a few years before the Irish potato famine, which began in 1845.
With an ink inscription of W. H. Estcourt dated Dec 17th 1900.
Condition
In full calf binding, with gilt detailing. Externally, smart, with light rubbing to the extremities and the odd mark. Fading to the leather, mainly to the extremities and to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean, with the occasional spot. Ink inscription to the first blank.
