A religious-themed romance novel, The Deliverance of Robert Carter, written by nineteenth-century English writer and editor Hugh Farrie. 

The first edition of this work. 

Complete in two volumes. 

Hugh Farrie was born in Liverpool and worked as a journalist and editor for the 'Liverpool Daily Post'. He often wrote under a penname, Hugh Westbury, authoring the works Frederick Hazzleden (1887) and Acte (1890).

A scarce to find work.

Condition

In the publisher's original half cloth with marbled boards. Externally, generally smart, with some shelf wear to the boards and bumping to the heads and tails of the spines and extremities. A mark to the front board of Volume II. Internally, binding is slightly strained in places. Pages remain bright and clean.
